The best product… for your roads

ABL-30

ABL-30 is a product specifically designed to moisten abrasive and road sand. This liquid is composed of a mixture of liquid magnesium and calcium chloride at a concentration of 30%, plus an additive from the agricultural field. ABL-30 covers each grain of abrasive, sand or other mix used for snow-removal operations in order to increase their efficiency while facilitating their handling.

Even if they are very useful to improve adherence to the pavement, abrasives may freeze and form lumps as they contain a certain amount of water. This is the reason users mix abrasives with salt in 5-10% proportions.

You can moisten your road abrasives or sand with ABL-30. The even covering of the grains keeps the product malleable at all times. Access to your stored products is thus maintained without adding salt, thus limiting the amount of chloride spread in the environment.

In addition, using ABL-30 limits losses due to the product bouncing towards the shoulder and makes your abrasives much more efficient that non-treated products. Moistening of abrasive and sand is usually done when piling the product at the storage site.

BOURGET ABRASIVE

BOURGET ABRASIVE is a type AB-5 abrasive moistened with ABL-30. This material is superior to standard mixes containing 10% of salt as, contrary to sodium that is no longer effective in temperatures lower than -12°C, ABL-30 can withstand temperatures as low as -45°C. Moreover, you can now have your abrasives treated at the storage site or purchase pre-moistened abrasives from our Saint-Paul de Joliette facilities.

ADVANTAGES OF BOURGET ABRASIVE

  • Better adherence and reduced losses (± 25%)
  • Piles remaining malleable all winter long without lumping
  • Keeps abrasives from freezing (without salt addition)
  • 100% Canadian product
